All menus exceed Federal guidelines Recommended Daily Allowances and are planned by a Registered Dietitian, Mark Bindus, RD,LD. A detailed nutrient breakdown of each day's menu can be found on our website.
We will offer more fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. All schools will have at a minimum of one fresh fruit and vegetable offering each day. Fresh fruit options include: sliced apples, orange wedges, sliced kiwi, petite bananas, and strawberries w/ whipped topping, cantaloupe, grapes and seedless watermelon (when in season). Fresh vegetable options include: all romaine salads, baby carrots, cucumbers, and fresh steamed broccoli.
All of our snack foods meet or exceed “The Alliance for a Healthier Generation's” standards. Providing no more than 35% of calories from fat, no more than 10% of calories from saturated fat, and no more than 35% sugar by volume.
